Lift Up Jesus Only and Jesus Will Lift You Up
See You At The Resurrection

What Does It Mean?

Peter & Jesus Lift Up Each Other

Peter Said, "Lord, save me" - Matthew 14: 25-32

After "... seeing the wind, he became afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, Lord, save me!"

So, Jesus "stretched out his hand" and lifted up Peter.

After Peter "became afraid" he had NO doubt that Jesus was not only able to save him but Jesus would save him (from death by drowning).

By proclaiming the authority of Jesus as his savior (from drowning) when he desperately and loudly cried out for help...

Peter lifted up Jesus ... and Jesus lifted up Peter.

Jesus Only Lifts Us Up With Him On The Cross

Jesus Said, "... for this purpose..." - John 12: 27, 32, 33; 14:2, 3

"Now my soul has become troubled; and what shall I say, 'Father, save me from this hour?'

But for this purpose I came to this hour."

" 'And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.'

But he was saying this to indicate the kind of death by which he was to die."

Lift Up Jesus Only

Lift Up Jesus Only - proclaim his point of view about his and our resurrection

"... for I go to prepare a place for you ... I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also." - John 14:3

Jesus said it... this is his point of view

Until Jesus returns to receive us to himself, we are not with him at death (and while dead we are not alive)

It is at the resurrection that ALL the redeemed from Adam to the last to die will take their first resurrection after death breath at the same time... like a choir inhaling in unison to get ready to sing, regardless of how long they have been asleep.

ALL of the friends of Jesus will live again where Jesus is... when Jesus returns he will resurrect us and receive us to himself so that where he is we may be also.

Our resurrected bodies will be the same as his resurrected body, so we will see him as he is because we will be as he is... forever.

First Breath
Art Telles

From Adam, Eve, Abel and Seth
To the last Saint to sleep in death

We will inhale our first resurrection after death breath together
And we will sing the resurrection song of the redeemed where Jesus is forever

Maranatha ... Amen!

Go Into All The World With Purpose And Meaning

Said about Jesus:

"... 'I will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world.' " - Matthew 13:35

Jesus said before his death and resurrection:

" 'Now judgment is upon this world...

" 'And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself.'

"...to indicate the kind of death by which he was to die." - John 12:31-33

"... for I go to prepare a place for you ... I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also." - John 14:3

The Angels said after the death and resurrection of Jesus:

"… Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but He has risen

"… Remember …. … be crucified, and the third day rise again" - Luke 24:5, 6, 7

"... He was lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

"... two men in white clothing ... said '... why do you stand looking into the sky?

" 'This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven.' " - Acts 1: 9-11

Jesus said after his death and resurrection:

"... all authority has been given to me ... Go ...

"... (1) disciple all the nations ... (2) baptize them ... [then] (3) teach them ...

"I am with you always until the end of the age." - Mt. 28: 18-20.

"…Peace be with you: as the Father has sent me, I also send you" - John 20:21

These words of Jesus after death... after burial... after resurrection express the WILL of God until the end of the age.

In our own way, as the Holy Spirit leads, each of us must do what Jesus said:

"... Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to all the creation." - Mk. 16:15,

Purpose and Meaning of the Mercy Seat on the Ark of the Covenant

Mercy Seat Atonement Blood

Mercy Seat And The Cross Of Jesus

The purpose and meaning of sprinkling the atonement (union) blood between the two angels on the mercy seat on top of the ark of the covenant in the most holy place that was within the veil, the only place on earth where God communed in the cloud with the high priest only once each year, was fulfilled only once on the cross by Only Jesus when

      • His blood was spilled
      • He said "it is finished"
      • He put his spirit (life) in his Father's hands (control)
      • He breathed his last
      • His death sealed his "purpose" for "this hour"

His death was announced when the veil into the most holy place was torn from the top down by the unseen angel.

Angels have had several announcements about Jesus:

      • The birth of Jesus: announced by angels to the shepherds
      • The death of Jesus: announced when the heavy veil into the most holy place was torn from top to bottom by an invisible angel
      • The resurrection of Jesus: announced by angels (men) to the women at the tomb
      • The return of Jesus: mentioned by angels (men) to the men of Galilee who saw Jesus ascend to heaven in the cloud

On what basis can we, 2000 years later, be 100% absolutely sure that the "men" were really angels?

This is the eyewitness testimony by the angel to the women at the tomb:

See Luke 24:4-6, where two men in dazzling apparel (angels) ask the women why they were looking for the living [one] among the dead [ones], since Jesus had already risen and was no longer in the tomb.

"... why do you seek the living one among the dead? He is not here, but he has risen. Remember ... he spoke to you ... the third day rise again."

Angel Moving Stone

See Matthew 28:2-7,

After a severe earthquake, an angel from heaven whose appearance was like lightning and with a garment white as snow removed the stone; the angel scared the guards at the tomb so much that they shook with fear and fell down as dead men.

"... I know that you are looking for Jesus who has been crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, just as he said ... go ... tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead."

If not the angels, who else would know that Jesus was not inside the tomb or where he had gone ?

      • The tomb guards could not witness the resurrection of Jesus inside the tomb after the heavy stone was removed.
      • The guards also could not witness Jesus walk out of the tomb after the stone was moved because they first fell as dead men.
      • Angels from heaven were the first and only eyewitnesses to the resurrection of Jesus.
      • First, the angels spoke the "good news" to the women disciples of Jesus.
      • Second, the women disciples of Jesus spoke the "good news" to the men disciples of Jesus.
      • Third, all of the disciples of Jesus evangelized the whole world with the same "good news".
      • The men would not lie & die for a rumor they heard from the women, would they?
      • The women would not lie to the men about what they heard from the angels, would they?
      • The angels sent from heaven would not lie about what they had seen first hand, would they?
      • Biblically, testimony by two or more eyewitnesses is very credible.
      • The testimony to the women by the angel eyewitnesses, the "two men in dazzling apparel", was accepted as credible by the women and men disciples of Jesus.

If not angels sent from heaven, who else could speak with eyewitness authority about something that no human could possibly witness inside a sealed tomb, or after the stone is moved?

Moving stone at the tomb of Lazarus

The stone at the entrance to the tomb of Lazarus was moved first by some of the people present, then Lazarus was resurrected and then he walked out.

The stone at the entrance to the tomb of Jesus was moved first by one of the angels present, then Jesus was resurrected and then he walked out.

Only angels sent from heaven were present to witness 1st the removal of the stone, 2nd the  resurrection of Jesus and 3rd to see him walk out of the tomb after the stone was moved.

If the angels sent from heaven had not seen Jesus walk out of the tomb after his resurrection inside the open tomb, would they have said so?

He Lives

I serve a risen Savior,
He's in the world today;

I know that He is living,
whatever men may say.

I see His hand of mercy,
I hear his voice of cheer,

And just the time I need Him,
He's always near.

He lives, He lives!
Christ Jesus lives today!

He walks with me and talks with me along life's narrow way.

He lives, He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives?

He lives [the angel said so!!, and] within my heart!

Veil into the Most Holy Place

The inside veil that separated the holy place from the most holy place was made of heavy material.

The two became one when the veil was torn from top to bottom by the unseen angel, never to be separated again because the atonement (at-one-ment / union) was finished.

The tearing of the veil that separated the holy place from the most holy place signified

1 - Jesus was dead
2 -
The judgment / atonement (at-one-ment) was accomplished
3 -
The indissoluble union was "finished"... forever

It is an indissoluble union ... it will never be dissolved ... it can not be challenged ... it can not be undone... it can not be repeated... ever.

Emmanuel, "God with us" in the "indissoluble union", is the eternal blessing that is the result of the fulfillment on the cross of the

      • one of a kind
      • only once
      • within the veil
      • most holy place activity
      • of sprinkling
      • the atonement (at-one-ment / union) blood
      • on the lid
      • of the mercy seat
      • only by the high priest

"God with us" in the "indissoluble union" is the eternal blessing that could only be revealed after the resurrection of Jesus.

The resurrection of Jesus could only happen after God's justice and judgment and mercy on our world was accomplished and applied on the cross by the atonement (at-one-ment / union) death of Jesus.

See John 12:31-33:

" 'Now judgment is upon this world ... if I be lifted up from the earth ... '
"... to indicate the kind of death by which he was to die.' "

Tabernacle CloudThe sprinkling of the atonement blood by the high priest on the mercy seat was a part of the communion activity between the high priest and God:

"And there I will meet with you; and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony, I will speak to you about all that I will give you in commandment for the sons of Israel." - Exodus 25:22

"... the LORD said to Moses, ... 'inside the veil ... I will appear in the cloud over the mercy seat.' " - Leviticus 16:2

Fulfillment

The physical and visible (to us) assurance of the finality of the not visible (to us) eternal blessing was the physical and visible (to us) resurrection of the physical body of Jesus from not visible (to us) death to not visible (to us) life.

That which is physical and visible (to us) helps us to "see" that which is not physical and not visible (to us). Not visible (to us) life is in the visible (to us) blood and blood is in the visible (to us) body.

      • Blood - life (not visible) is "seen" in the blood (visible)
      • Body - death (not visible) is "seen" in the body that is physical on the cross (visible)
      • Burial - spirit/soul (not visible) is "seen" in the body that is physical in the tomb (visible)

As in life, so also in death...

      • A union, not a fusion
      • A distinction, not a separation

      • A union of the not visible spirit/soul and the visible body

A union is not a fusion of the two into one

      • A distinction between the not visible spirit/soul and the visible body

A distinction is not a separation of the two from the one union

The spirit/soul and the body are united while alive and they are not in any way separated while dead.

Before the visible resurrection of Jesus revealed the not visible indissoluble union, the visible blood, body and burial of Jesus revealed the not visible death of that which is not physical and also of that which is physical.

After his resurrection Jesus ascended to and entered the most holy place of heaven itself at the right hand of our heavenly Father, where the most holy place communion continues... after the fulfillment on the cross of the sprinkling of the atonement (at-one-ment / union) blood on the mercy seat.

And, just as the people on the day of atonement waited eagerly for the high priest to leave the most holy place in the tent of meeting and return to the people, we wait while our High Priest fulfills the most holy place communion time with God on behalf of the people.

We wait for him to leave heaven and return to us.

The most holy place activity of the high priest on the day of atonement, with its fulfillment by Jesus on the cross, is a guiding light until the resurrection morning wake up call when Jesus awakens from the sleep of death all the redeemed from all the ages past... present... future.

Only the blood cleansed dead of all the ages will be awakened at the same time to rise at the same time from the dust of the earth with resurrected bodies to meet Jesus in his own resurrected body.

We will see him as he is because we will be as he is.

Lift Up Jesus Only today and

"proclaim the excellence of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light

and Jesus Will Lift YOU Up tomorrow with all of his friends (saints) from all the ages, and we will all be together forever in the "Olam Habah - world to come".

Maranatha ... Amen

JESUS: THE ONLY MERCY SEAT

A Word Study

The Mercy Seat is the Heart of the Most Holy Place

A Hebrew Word:

Only Jesus is our "Mercy Seat"

Strong’s # {3727} kapporeth, kap-po'-reth; from Strong’s # 3722; a lid (used only of the cover of the sacred Ark): — mercy seat.

Strong’s # {3722} kaphar, kaw-far'; a primitive root; to cover (specifically with bitumen); figuratively, to expiate or condone, to placate or cancel: — appease, make (an atonement, cleanse, disannul, forgive, be merciful, pacify, pardon, purge (away), put off, (make) reconcile(-liation).

Ex. 25:16 And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee.

Ex.25:17 And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold….

Ex. 25:20 And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.

Ex. 25:21 And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee.

Ex. 25:22 And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony….

Ex. 26:34 And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy place.

Leviticus 16:2 And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the veil before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.

A Greek word:

Only Jesus is our "Propitiation"

Strong’s # (2435) hil-as-tay’-ree-on; neuter of a derivative of (2433); an expiatory (place or thing), i.e. (concretely) an atoning victim, or (special) the lid of the Ark (in the Temple): — mercyseat, propitiation.

Strong’s # (2433) hil-as’-kom-ahee; middle from the same as (2436); to conciliate, i.e. (transitive) to atone for (sin), or (intransitive) be propitious: — be merciful, make reconciliation for.

Strong’s # (2434) hil-as-mos ; atonement, i.e. (concretely) an expiator: — propitiation.

Rom. 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation (2435), through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

1 Jn. 2:2 And he is the propitiation (2434), for our sins: and not for our’s only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 Jn. 4:10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation (2434), for our sins.

The Implication Of This Short Word Study

The Old Testament Mercy Seat and the New Testament Propitiation

ONLY Jesus is the Old Testament Hebrew "Mercy Seat"
ONLY
Jesus is the New Testament Greek "Mercyseat" / "Propitiation"

Putting "mercy seat" together with "propitiation" we see that only Jesus is:

      • the mercy seat
      • the lid on top of the ark of the covenant
      • the only place on earth where the attention of God was focused
      • when atonement by the sprinkling of blood only once
was offered for all the people

Rom. 4:25

Jesus "was delivered up for [because of] our transgressions

[for = because of ... because we have already sinned, not so that we might sin sometime in the future],

and was raised for [because of] our justification

[for = because of ... because we have already been justified by the atonement (at-one-ment / union) blood of Jesus, not so that we might be justified by the blood of Jesus in the future sometime... maybe... if... perfection is reached]."

Rom. 5:1, 8, 9

"Therefore, having been [already] justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. ...

"God demonstrates his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

"Much more then, having been [already] jusified by His blood

[because on the cross we have already been justified by the atonement (at-one-ment / union) blood of Jesus],

we shall be saved from the wrath through Him."

Rev. 1:5

"... Jesus... the first-born of the dead, ... [already] released us from our sins by his blood."

Because we have already been released and justified from sin and death by the "sprinkled" atonement (at-one-ment / union) blood of Jesus, he was resurrected from death.

Jesus was not resurrected from death so that we might be released or justified by his blood after a sanctified life of "good living" until death.

He was resurrected because we have already been released and justified... by his atonement (at-one-ment / union) blood on the cross... the fulfillment of the sprinkling of blood on the mercy seat in the most holy place.

This being so, now [the nanosecond we believe] we have peace with God by faith.

By faith in the eternal and indissoluble act of blood atonement (at-one-ment / indissoluble union) of the "son of man" and our "Friend" Jesus on the "Mercy Seat / Cross" on our behalf, all human kind has peace with God.

Jesus is the "peace" of all of us... now.

Just as...

... nothing needed to be added to the Atoning Sprinkling of the Atoning Blood on the Mercy Seat by the High Priest Within the Veil on the Day of Atonement,

So also...

... nothing needs to be added to the Atoning Sprinkling of the Atoning Blood of Jesus on the Cross.

This being true...

Absolutely nothing needs to be added to the blood atonement (at-one-ment / indissoluble union) on the cross after the ascension of Jesus into the Most Holy Place Presence of our Heavenly Father and the presentation of his own Physical Body.

      • The High Priest added nothing to the atoning sprinkling of the atoning blood on the day of atonement
      • The people as a corporate body added nothing to the atoning sprinkling of the atoning blood
      • A person as an individual could do nothing and also added nothing to the atoning blood that ONLY the High Priest sprinkled within the veil on the mercy seat on top of the ark of the covenant between the outstreched wings of the angel cherubim.
      • The people as individuals and corporately could do nothing within the veil
      • After the High Priest "sprinkled" the blood there was nothing else for him to do
      • The atonement (at-one-ment / indissoluble union) was finished
      • All the high priest could do now was commune with God who was present in the cloud on the mercy seat

After the atonement blood was sprinkled on the mercy seat and then after the time of communion, the High Priest

      • walked out of the Most Holy Place,
      • walked out of the tabernacle building,
      • walked out of the outer courtyard,
      • walked outside of the sanctuary compound,
      • walked into the camp of the people who were eagerly waiting for him to return to them.

As with the High Priest on the Day of Atonement, so with Jesus and his atonement on the cross and his communion in heaven since his ascension.

Because his "atonement" on the cross was "finishedbefore he ascended to heaven, and after his "communion" in the heavenly presence of our Heavenly Father is finished, Jesus will return to us, resurrect us and receive us to himself so that where he is we can be also... forever.

In other words,

If

If our first "yes to faith" response to the Holy Spirit who reveals to us the meaning of the Redeeming Blood of Jesus and also our daily "yes" to the Holy Spirit made visible by our daily life are needed for us to be "justified by the blood",

Then

Then the "atoning blood" of Jesus did not and it can not release and justify anybody... ever..., ages future…, present… or past... or past... or past.

Do you see it?

ONLY the "Atoning Sprinkling" of the "Atoning Blood of ONLY Jesus", ONLY one time... ever, and ONLY on the CROSS / MERCY SEAT, justifies us and releases us from sin, guilt and death... forever..., since ONLY Jesus is "... the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world".

In other words…

Before we were conceived and born ONLY the blood of Jesus justified us and released all of us from sin and guilt and death

"Past and Present and Future"

before our life, during our life and after our life when we are dead and buried in the dust of the earth waiting for our resurrection from death.

That is why our sanctification, which is a word that refers to our "good works" as well as our first "yes to faith" response, to our daily living response and to our rest in the grave, is not... CAN NOT be the "good news".

Our first response and our daily consecrated living are our present and continuous response TO the "good news", the "glad tidings", the "gospel"... ONLY Jesus.

      • Our personal sanctified life of good words and good works are not the lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world.
      • ONLY Jesus can and will resurrect us and release us from death when he returns.
      • The "sprinkled and atoning blood" of ONLY Jesus has already justified and released 100% of the human race.
      • From Adam to the last child born before the return of Jesus, all have already been redeemed from guilt, sin, and the wages of sin… death.
      • This was accomplished by the LAMB of God... slain from the foundation of the world… on the cross before we were conceived and born.
Only Jesus is:
      • High Priest
      • Sanctuary
      • Holy Place
      • Veil
      • Within the Veil
      • Most Holy Place
      • Ark of the Covenant
      • Law
      • Mercy Seat
      • Lamb
      • Blood
      • Sprinkled Blood
      • Atonement
      • Union of Holy Place with the Most Holy Place

Mercy Seat... the heart of the Most Holy Place in the tabernacle, the only place of atonement where God chose to meet the representative of the people only once, to commune with him and show his people mercy when and where the blood was sprinkled, only once.

      • Only Jesus on the cross is the only atonement for sin (Sprinkled Blood)
      • Only Jesus on the cross is the only person who made atonement for the people (High Priest)
      • Only Jesus on the cross is the only victim whose blood atoned for sin (Lamb)
      • Only Jesus on the cross is the only most holy place where God met us (Mercy Seat)

That which gives purpose and meaning to Lift Up Jesus ONLY is Jesus ONLY on the Mercy Seat / Cross

      • Only the Mercy Seat lid on top of the
      • Only ark of the covenant was the heart of the
      • Only Most Holy Place where
      • Only within the veil, the
      • Only atonement (at-one-ment / indissoluble union) was made
      • Only by the High Priest
      • Only once each year. This was done
      • Only by sprinkling
      • Only the "blood" of
      • Only the chosen "lamb". That specific sprinkling
      • Only "on" the "Mercy Seat" was fulfilled
      • Only by Jesus
      • Only once
      • Only on the cross

In the wilderness tabernacle...

The Mercy Seat was the "first and last"; the "starting and ending"; the "Alpha and Omega" point of reference only once each year on the Day of Atonement, when the atonement blood was sprinkled only once each year for all of Israel during the forty years of wandering in the wilderness.

The Mercy Seat had God's attention once each year, and it should have our attention too.

Lift Up Jesus Only, the only ONE.

To say it a different way; there can not be more than one way to God since there's ONLY ONE ONLY. Yes, it's a play on words, with only one point to make… not more than one.

Mercy Seat: The Starting Reference Point

The starting reference point is the "Mercy Seat", located "Within The Veil", in the "Most Holy Place" of the "Tabernacle", between the "Cherubim" with their wings stretched toward each other.

The "Cloud" above the mercy seat is where the "Lord" chose to meet the "High Priest", the only advocate and mediator for the people.

When the High Priest came within the veil to sprinkle the blood of the lamb he came to meet the Lord who was already there, waiting to "commune" with the people in the "cloud" from "above the mercy seat", from "between" the two cherubim which are upon the ark of the testimony...Ex. 25:22

The "Atoning Sprinkling" of the "Blood of the Lamb" on the mercy seat by the High Priest was the "Atonement", and it was sprinkled "Only Once" each year on the "Day of Atonement", only by the High Priest.

      • Only Jesus is our "High Priest"
      • Only Jesus is the "Lamb" sacrificed for the people
      • Only Jesus is the "Blood" of the covenant
      • Only Jesus is the "Sprinkled" blood
      • Only Jesus is the place where the blood was sprinkled...the "Mercy Seat", the lid on the Ark of the Covenant
      • Only Jesus is our "Atonement"
      • Only Jesus is the "Veil" that needed to be breached to open the way into the most holy place and the mercy seat
      • Only Jesus is the indissoluble union of the holy place with the most holy place... forever

The sprinkling of the blood of the covenant on the mercy seat by the High Priest was the atonement (the at-one-ment / indissoluble union between Ceator and creation).

Only Jesus was all of that in his own person and work in our behalf and in our stead (in our place, and instead of us doing it).

In our place he did what we could not do... bring us "within the veil". When he died and his body breathed it's last breath the veil was torn from top to bottom.

By his death Jesus gave up all of his being, breath, blood and body and indissolubly united forever the created with the Creator in a new creation.

The visible "torn" body of Jesus, the visible "sprinkled" blood of Jesus, and the visible resurrected body of Jesus is the visible assurance to us that in Jesus we are a "new creation" union of being and body and blood indissoluble for eternity.

What God has united will never be separated because it has been sealed by the ONLY being, body, blood, breath, death, and resurrection of his ONLY Son.

Only the atonement blood sprinkled by the High Priest on the mercy seat has this "purpose & meaning" that Jesus fulfilled at the cross!

The mercy seat in the most holy place where the Lord, "in the cloud", "between the cherubim", "communed" with the High Priest when the blood was sprinkled only once each year, is fulfilled on the cross only by Jesus.

The cross was a one-time only event, the only place of mercy where God met with only Jesus, our only High Priest, where only his blood was spilled, only he breathed his last breath and only his being and body died, until only his Resurrection when he breathed again!

ONLY Jesus did what we could not do, only "within the veil", only in the most holy place, only on the mercy seat, only on the ark of the covenant.

ONLY Jesus IS all of that

ONLY Jesus is all of the tabernacle and the daily and yearly service of mercy and reconciliation.

ONLY Jesus DID all of that

ONLY Jesus fulfilled all of the symbolic meaning of the tabernacle and service.

Jesus: The Only "Mercy Seat"

That which gives purpose and meaning to Lift Up ONLY Jesus is the "Mercy Seat", symbolized by the lid on top of the ark of the covenant.

It was the heart of the Most Holy Place, the only point on earth where the Lord God of Israel communed only with the High Priest, the only representative of Israel, only once each year.

The Mercy Seat had God's attention once each year, and it should have our attention also.

The Mercy Seat was the "first and last""starting and ending" - "Alpha and Omega" point of reference only once each year on the Day of Atonement, when the blood was sprinkled only once each year for all of Israel.

This is what it means to Lift Up Jeusu ONLY from his point of view.

Resurrection After Death
or
Resurrection After Life After Death

Which Is Biblical?

Jesus is Resurrection and Life:

"Jesus said to her, ... 'I am the resurrection and the life ... and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. ... '?" - John 11:25, 26

"... the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen." - Romans 9:5

"... the word of the Lord abides forever, ... ." - 1 Peter 1:25

Never and Forever:

Compare the single word never in John 11:26 and the single word forever in 1 Peter 1:25 and Romans 9:5 in the literal Greek and the NASB English.

Both never and forever are from the same three (3) Greek words eis ton aiona, translated into English as into the age.

Greek (English): eis (into) ton (the) aiona (age)

John 11: 25, 26

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life; he that believs in me shall live even if he dies;
"and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never [ Greek: "eis ton aiona" ] die. ... ."

1 Peter 1:18, 24, 25

"Knowing that you were not redeemed with perishable things …" … "all flesh is like grass …"
"but the word of the Lord abides forever [ Greek: "eis ton aiona" ], ... ."

Translation and Meaning

1 Peter 1:25

Literal English translation from Greek:

"… word of [the] Lord remains into the age…." [Greek: eis ton aiona]

Meaning of the literal words in the NASB translation:

"… word of the Lord abides forever…." [Greek: eis ton aiona / English: into the age]

John 11:26

Literal English translation from Greek:

everyone "… believing in me by no means dies into the age …." [Greek: eis ton aiona]

Meaning of the literal words in the NASB translation:

"… everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die …." [Greek: eis ton aiona / English: into the age]

In the NASB translation of John 11:26, the six (6) literal Greek words "by no means" [ou may] and "into the age" [eis ton aiona] are contracted into the single English word "never".

Text / Context Question About Meaning:

In the KJV and NASB, the same three Greek words eis ton aiona are translated with two opposite and contradictory meanings; never and forever.

Do the Greek eis ton aiona and the English into the age mean never or forever or both?

1 Peter 1:25:

In the text, forever is from the Greek "eis ton aiona", translated into English as "into the age".

John 11:26:

In the text, never is from the Greek "eis ton aiona", translated into English as "into the age".

In 1 Peter 1:25, the "word…remains forever".

Which is correct?

God's "word … remains … forever" or the "word ... remains ... never"?.

No... never
Yes... forever

["eis ton aiona / into the age" means forever. It can not mean never].

In John 11:26, believers never die.

Which is correct?

Believers never die, or believers by no means die forever?

No... never
Yes... forever

["eis ton aiona / into the age" means forever. It can not mean never].

In Romans 9:1-5: Paul says that Jesus is blessed forever.

"... the Christ according to the flesh, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen"

Blessed forever ["eis tous aionas / into the ages"] (plural - suggesting forever and ever), not never.

Yes... The word abides forever
No... The word abides never

("eis ton aiona" is translated into English as "into the age" and means forever, not never).

Yes... Believers by no means die forever
No... Believers never die

("eis ton aiona" is translated into English as "into the age" and means forever, not never).

Conclusion: The word abides forever and believers by no means die forever.

Yes... The word abides forever and believers do not die forever.

Both are accurate and faithful to the Greek words and the text / context.

No... The word abides never and believers die never.

Both are not accurate or faithful to the literal Greek words and the text / context.

The literal Greek words eis ton aiona and the English translation into the age, can not mean both forever and never because the word of the Lord abides only forever [into the age], not never!

There is only one meaning in 1 Peter 1:25 and Romans 9:5, not two, and there is only one meaning in John 11:26, not two.

Since "the word of the Lord" only endures "eis ton aiona / into the age / forever", "eis ton aiona" with a meaning of forever in 1 Peter 1:25 is the guiding word that helps us see why "eis ton aiona / into the age" in John 11:26 can only have the same meaning of forever and not never.

Application of eis ton aiona / into the age with a Forever Meaning

The Greek eis ton aiona and the English into the age always means forever, never does it mean never.

"Not die forever" [eis ton aiona / into the age] means that the expression life after death, with the implied meaning of life continuing during death, is not an accurate expression and meaning.

It also means that believers never die is not an accurate meaning of the Greek "eis ton aiona" and the English translation "into the age".

Jesus did not say believers never die, with the implication that they are still alive after death and they would be alive forever ["eis ton aiona - into the age"] while dead.

He said there is death after life but death is not [ou may / by no means] forever [eis ton aiona / into the age].

He also said there is life [again] after death, however it is only after resurrection to life from death, not resurrection to life from life continuing during death.

Jesus did not teach that the not visible soul / spirit / mind is alive somewhere separated from the visible body / brain while the visible body / brain is dead [without life] and is dust in a grave.

Jesus taught resurrection to life from death, not resurrection to life from life which continues after [and during] death.

See Luke 24:4-6, where two men in dazzling apparel (angels) ask the women why they were looking for the living among the dead, since Jesus had already risen and was no longer in the tomb:

"... He is not here, but he has risen. Remember...."

See Matthew 28:2-7, where the angel whose appearance was like lightning and with a garment white as snow tells the women:

"... He is not here, for he has risen, just as he said...."

In other words,

When Jesus was with the dead he was not living.
When Jesus was resurrected to life he was no longer with the dead.

Life [continuing] after [and during] death
is as impossible as

death [continuing] after [resurrection to and during] life.

      • Existence continuing after non-existence is as impossible as non-existence continuing after existence.
      • Awareness continuing after non-awareness is as impossible as non-awareness continuing after awareness.
      • Consciousness continuing after non-consciousness is as impossible as non-consciousness continuing after consciousness.
      • Life continuing after death is as impossible as death continuing after [resurrection to] life.

Resurrection to life from life which does not end at death is not biblical.

Jesus did not suggest that

      • death is life continuing in another form, or
      • life comes from death, or
      • life comes from life which continues after [and during] death.

Resurrection is from death, but not from death as a source of life.

Death is an enemy of life, not a source of life, and it is not a friend of believers.

To His disciples Jesus said,

"… If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be also" (John 14:2, 3).

The doctrine of a future judgment depends on and presupposes this truth about the return of Jesus and what he will do.

Jesus said he will return for us, he will resurrect us and he will receive us.

Until Jesus returns for us, we are not with him.

Jesus said he was going to prepare something for us, not with us. So, until Jesus returns to receive us to himself, we are not with him after we die.

Since we are not still alive after we die, we can not be with him after we die. Only after we are resurrected from death and live again can we be received by him and be with him.

While we are dead, prior to resurrection, we are not with Jesus.

Jesus said he would receive us here on this earth, after we are resurrected. He did not say he would receive us in heaven after our death and before our resurrection.

He said he was coming back here where the dead are. Since the dead do not live with him in heaven, Jesus will return to us and resurrect us so that he can receive us.

Jesus told Martha that [only] he is the resurrection and life, in that order of sequence, and if believers die they will live because those

"…believing in me by no means [ou may] dies [apothanayforever (eis ton aiona / unto the age). Do you believe this?"

Do you believe this too?

      • Life does not begin or end.
      • Life is neither created or destroyed.
      • Death ends our existence as beings that are experiencing life.
      • Jesus ends death.
      • Friends of Jesus die but not forever.
      • Immortality is associated with resurrection or with death, not both.
      • Life does not continue after and during death.
      • Death does not continue after and during life.
      • We do start living again after resurrection.
      • We are raised to life from death.
      • We are not raised to life from life which continues at death.
      • We are raised to life from death which is final but not forever since death is not life continuing in another form.
      • Resurrection to life is from death.
      • Resurrection to life is not from life after death.
      • Resurrection to life is from death or resurrection to life is from life after death, not both.

Jesus Only is Resurrection and Life
Jesus Only is the Christian Hope of Resurrection, Life and Immortality.

Resurrection!!!

Resurrection, Raise, Raised, Rise, Risen,
Awake, Wake

Strong's Numbers & Dictionary

Resurrection in the New Testament:

[ anastasis ], with verbs [ anistemi ], "stand up," and [ egeiro ], "raise."

There are no technical terms found in the Old Testament.

In Isaiah 26:19 are found the verbs [ chayah ], "live," [ kum ] "rise," [ kic ] awake".

The New Testament has three Greek words for resurrection:

      • # 386 an-as’-tas-is
      • # 1454 eg’-er-sis
      • # 1815 ex-an-as’-tas-is

      • Cross
      • Blood sprinkled

      • Death (wages of sin - the last enemy will be no more... forever)
      • Earth made new
      • Eternity

Everything associated with Jesus is indissoluble, unchangable!

It is IMPOSSIBLE for there to be more than ONLY 1 ONLY

ONLY 1 Trinity
ONLY 1 Creator
ONLY 1 Only Son
ONLY 1 Lamb (slain from the foundation of the world)
ONLY 1 Fullfillment of prophecy
ONLY 1 Conception (sinless / immaculate)
ONLY 1 Birth
ONLY 1 Life
ONLY 1 Indissoluble Union of creator & creation
ONLY 1 Redeemer
ONLY 1 Sinless Redeeming Life
ONLY 1 Savior
ONLY 1 Perfect Teacher
ONLY 1 Perfect Teaching
ONLY 1 Offering of Self
ONLY 1 Sacrifice
ONLY 1 Cross (mercy seat)
ONLY 1 Atoning Blood sprinkled on the Cross (mercy seat)
ONLY 1 Suffering
ONLY 1 Last Breath before death
ONLY 1 Death
ONLY 1 Rest
ONLY 1 Atonement (at-one-ment / union)
ONLY 1 Justification
ONLY 1 Justification by Atoning Blood
ONLY 1 Next Breath after the Last Breath
ONLY 1 Resurrection
ONLY 1 Visible Resurrection Confirmation of the Indissoluble Union of Creator and Creation
ONLY 1 Ascension
ONLY 1 Most Holy Place Communion by Our High Priest and Our Heavenly Father
ONLY 1 2nd Coming (appearance... presence... revealing...)
ONLY 1 Life after resurrection from death (not life after resurrection from life after death)
ONLY 1 Resurrection to life or to judgment
ONLY 1 Change in the blink of an eye for those justified by the blood
ONLY 1 Eternal Death for rejecting being justified by the blood
ONLY 1 Eternal Death (not eternal life after death)
ONLY 1 Last Wage for sin (death is no more)
ONLY 1 New World purified by fire
ONLY 1 Eternal Life when death is no more and earth is made new
ONLY 1 Kingdom of God for Eternity becasue Life is Eternal and life after death is not true

The irrefutable reason why there can be ONLY 1 ONLY

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob affirmed only 1 "Only Begotten Son" (conceived and born).

If it were otherwise, he would have said so because he is:

Truthful - he does not lie
Unchangable - he does not change the past to change the future
Eternal - he knows tomorrow today

If Time Travel was a possible reality:

If more than ONLY 1 ONLY were possible, consider this alien (spirit) time travel deception:

      • Time Travel would be a valid topic for serious scientific discussion.
      • Humans would never cease to exist (wage of sin is death), with at least one 2nd chance to change the past to change their future.
      • Lucifier and his rebellious angels (biblical demonic spirits) would never cease to exist (wage of sin is death), with at least one 2nd chance to change the past to change their future.
      • The symbolism associated with the wilderness tabernacle atonement service would have no meaning:
        • tabernacle
        • high priest
        • veil
        • most holy place
        • ark of the covenant
        • mercy seat
        • sprinkling of the atoning blood only by the high priest Aaron
        • fulfillment of the tabernacle atonement service on the cross by the High Priest Jesus

Time Travel (and reincarnation) are a dead end for discussion because:

      • Sin and death would never end.
      • Jesus would be irrelevant if sin and death could be ended by changing the past (to change the future).
      • Jesus would not be the ONLY "Anointed" 1.
      • Jesus would not have been resurrected because we would not have been "justified by the blood".
      • At the baptism of Jesus, the visible confirmation by the dove would have been a deception.
      • The audible voice from heaven that affirmed Jesus was the Son of God would have been a lie.
      • The command to listen to Jesus would have been false and forgettable.

However, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is:

Truthful - he does not lie.
Unchangable - he does not change the past to change the future.
Eternal - he knows tomorrow today.
